"One Kidding Around Greenville reader is on a mission to see all the beautiful waterfalls within an hour of Greenville. She uses the AllTrails Hiking & Mountain Trails app to find them and suggested Issaqueena Falls near Walhalla, Dupont State Forest in Cedar Mountain, NC, Table Rock and Paris Mountain. Start chasing those waterfalls!"
"Easily one of the most impressive and popular parks in Greenville is the Falls Park on the Reedy. Located in Downtown Greenville, this beautiful 32-acre park has been around for more than 15 years. You can spend an entire day wandering around the walking trails admiring the seemingly endless nature and gorgeous waterfalls."
"Picking a trail is a real challenge as the options are endless, but we eventually settled on a day of hiking the Art Loeb Trail. Joining up with our guide from the Blue Ridge Hiking Company, we headed off on the Blue Ridge Parkway to hike the double summit of Black Balsam Knob and Tennent Mountain. This hike is an incredibly scenic 5 mile loop with established trails and views for days. Many locals adore and use the trails in this area on the weekends because it also makes for great camping."
"For an unforgettable sunset view, head to Black Balsam Knob trail in Pisgah National Forest. It’s only about a 1-1.5 hour drive from Asheville, then a 10-15 minute easy hike to the summit, which boasts amazing views into the surrounding ridges and valleys below. In the summer, you can set out a picnic blanket and enjoy the last few rays of golden light to end your trip in the most beautiful way."
"This park is tucked away right off the Swamp Rabbit Trail and the perfect little spot for a picnic lunch or to let the kids get out some energy. They have a sensory garden, musical instrument area, and during the summer, lots of flowers and herbs. Check out our Kidding Around review of Linky Stone Park!"
"Also along the Reedy River is the Children’s Garden at Linky Stone Park. This 1-acre unique garden boasts floral experiences using all five senses, a geology wall made of rocks and minerals from around the Upstate, a textile garden, a Hansel and Gretel cottage, and a secret garden."
"The Green River Adventures Waterfall Trek shows you the best of the Big Bradley Falls and Cove Creek Gorge. The hike starts with a 1 mile hike towards Big Bradley Falls before sending you rappelling a 30 foot vertical wall to access the base of the falls and the Cove Creek Gorge."
"If you decide to rent an apartment, we found an absolute winner in Stylish Downtown House Near Fluor Field Suite B. Sarah was a fabulous host, immediately answering emails, and gave us great advice on where to eat as well as activities in the area. The apartment was spacious and clean, within walking distance of Falls Park on the Reedy (0.5 miles), and 1 block off of Main Street in the trendy West End of Greenville. It rents for an average of $150 a night."
"The Greenville Drive, a Class A minor league affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, play in the South Atlantic League. Fluor Field is like a mini-Fenway..."
"The next day we headed into the Pisgah National Forest for a morning of rock climbing at Looking Glass Rock. Rising 4,000 feet from the ground and made of solid granite, people come from all over the country to climb the classic routes it has to offer."
